A Norfolk Venue Showcasing Celebration and Modern Romance
In the quiet stillness of January, The Octagon Barn transformed into something altogether unexpected — a celebration of colour, movement, and unapologetic joy. The venue’s latest showcase, More Joy, reimagined barn-weddings through a lens of party pink hues, playful elegance, and contemporary design, inviting couples to experience a wedding day defined not by tradition alone, but by atmosphere, connection, and celebration.
Set within the Norfolk countryside, the barn’s warm architectural character provided the perfect canvas for a showcase that felt both elevated and exuberant. Guests were welcomed into a space where every detail had been carefully considered, yet nothing felt overworked — a balance of luxury and ease that set the tone for the day.

A Space Designed for Celebration
Guided through the venue, couples experienced The Octagon Barn as a flowing journey rather than a sequence of rooms. The intention was clear from the outset: this was not simply a styled space, but a vision of how a wedding could feel.
The Octagon Barn’s open plan lay out really lends itself to the perfect party set up, meaning guests will never be herded into room after room throughout the wedding day. This showcase demonstrated how joyful that feels, to make the most of the space and how your day can seamlessly flow from one moment to another.

The heart of the venue was reserved for dancing, in our opinion, one of the most joyful parts of the wedding day, framed by striking silver inflatables reflecting the party lights, and crowned by Best @ Bar’s round bar. Having the bar close to the dancefloor gave the space a real club-like feel, sparking excitement, fun and joy.

The dining tables doubled as an art installation — sculpted around floral and grass meadows, the sweeping serpentine tables that curved effortlessly around the clever work of Studio Plum floristry created a magical, captivating and immersive setting for your sit-down meal.
Moving away from traditional layouts, the tables encouraged togetherness and conversation, creating a sense of movement and energy that carried throughout the showcase.
Styling with Intent by Laod Styles
The creative direction by Laod Styles embraced a philosophy of modern celebration — joyful, expressive, and confidently romantic. Known for transforming spaces with an editorial eye, Laod Styles brought a sense of fashion-led styling to the barn, layering colour, texture, and form with effortless precision.
Party pink tones flowed throughout the design, softened by delicate drapery and elevated through contemporary detailing. Rather than isolated moments of styling, the aesthetic moved continuously through the space, whilst also not going over the top. This wedding design was practical, purposeful and most importantly, achievable. Every element that was showcased is easy to book for your wedding, from our wonderful team of suppliers which you can read more about down below.

Floristry as Landscape

Working in close collaboration with Laod Styles, Studio Plum introduced one of the showcase’s most defining elements: an abundant meadow installation woven directly through the serpentine tables.
Florals and grasses appeared to sprout up from within the table setting, softening the structure and creating an elevated, woodland – meadow picnic feel.
The meadow blurred the line between tablescape and landscape, transforming dining into an experience rather than a setting. Textural florals and layered colour added depth while maintaining an effortless, romantic quality — a modern interpretation of abundance that felt both luxurious and relaxed.
A Collaboration
The showcase came to life through the collaboration of a carefully curated team of Norfolk suppliers, each contributing to the atmosphere while maintaining a cohesive creative vision, hand selected and coordinated by Laod Styles.

Boomting Bunting - Georgia and her team (the boomtingers!) are true artists at heart, you will have seen yourselves the magic they can do with fabric and what a difference it makes in the Barn, it is tried and tested that their draping brings a smile to everyone’s faces as they enter, and this time we did something slightly different, focusing on the brickwork which added warmth, softness and elevated the space without taking the focus off the magnificent open-vaulted ceiling.

Deck Above is the epitome of More Joy. Chris’ work proves that balloons are not just for children, they can bring fun to every celebration in your life, it can be thoughtful, artistic and elegant. Magic and sparkle were added to the space with striking silver globes suspended over the bar and an oversized floor installation which framed the wedding cake (because why not?). Reflecting light and movement across the barn, the installation brought a sense of playfulness and glamour, reinforcing the celebratory energy that defined More Joy while elevating the atmosphere with an unexpected, editorial edge.

Thank you...
To the suppliers that collaborated with us, and the couples who visited, chatted with us and booked their weddings here, thank you! More than a showcase, More Joy was a statement — a reminder that weddings can be luxurious without formality, elevated without restraint, and that before everything else, you are allowed to prioritise fun and enjoy every second of the planning and the big day!
By placing shared experience at the centre of the design, The Octagon Barn demonstrated how modern weddings are evolving: less about tradition for tradition’s sake, and more about how a space makes people feel.
